My mom shared sad news with me today, and it’s been on my mind all day.
Earlier this week, a young couple in my parents’ church left their 2 month old with a babysitter (another church-member and someone I’ve known for years). When the babysitter went to wake him from his nap, she discovered that he had died in his sleep from SIDS. This was the couple’s first child, and to say that they are distraught is an understatement. Mom asked for prayers for them, and I ask the same from all of you. I don’t usually ask for prayer requests from readers, but please remember this young couple and babysitter in your thoughts.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He rescues those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18
A girl I used to work with died in her sleep last week, she was 29, she had diabetes and apparently went into a diabetic coma, so sudden and so sad. The family who lost their baby will be in my thoughts, that is such a terrible loss.
That’s awful. I cannot imagine what the parents and baby-sitter are going through. How horrible. I will definately keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh my… I can’t imagine!!!! I will keep them in my thoughts.
Count me in too! That is just so horrible! 🙁

In my thoughts!!
That’s so sad! Praying
That is so awful. I know a family who had an infant who died of SIDS and I know how traumatic it can be. I’ll keep them in my thoughts.
That’s heartbreaking. I’m so sorry for them and they will be in my prayers.
sending prayers… I can’t even imagine what they are going through…
How awful! They are in my prayers!
What a tragedy! They’re definitely in my prayers.
That is so horrible … I can’t even imagine. I’ll keep them all in my prayers!
The same thing happened to a really good friend of mine quite a few years ago. It was her first child, only I think she was about 6 months old or so. They had left her with a babysitter as well. They were completely devastated from what I know–I didn’t know them then. They’ve had two children since and although it’s been a lot of heartache, they’ve moved forward. They still sign her name and put her picture on all of their Christmas cards, they have a memorial garden for her at their house, they celebrate her birthday. They have also become advocates for SIDS victims and are on all sorts of committees about it.
My thoughts and prayers are with that couple’s family–I can’t imagine losing a child.
🙁 🙁 That is so horrible & tragic! Will definitely keep this couple and the babysitter in my prayers!
