How are these boys growing up so fast?!
How are these boys growing up so fast?!
Joe and I headed to the playground for some much needed swing ‘n slide time on Thursday. It was the first day without lots of rain this week and he was happy to get out. I love that Joe gets so happy over such simple things like swings, slides, see-saws, and dangling from handle bars… Read More Photo Shoot at Myers Park
Someone was very happy with the tractor from the toy library 🙂

**Thank you to Danae for letting me play around with her camera! Pretty sure that I know which one I want, now!
Joe is so curious and playful these days. I read about 3 – 4 books to him everyday and we’re making frequent trips to the library. I’m running out of stuff to do with him, though. I keep thinking that I should get him a walker, but I hate to add yet another thing to… Read More Jolly Jumper
Joe and I went on a pointless errand today. Don’t you just love those? When you get to your destination and you learn that the paperwork you were given is, in fact, not sufficient. And then when you email the letting agent to let them know that you need different paperwork in order to get… Read More Some Photos
Someone… Is… Three… Months… Old! Joe had his 3 month appointment yesterday: 6.58kgs (14.5lbs) and 64.7cms (25.5ins) long! He’s as happy and as chatty as can be, and so much fun to be around. Love you, Joe!
Just so you know, Joe hates tummy-time: Not a happy camper!
Joe and I took a walk the other day. Destination? “Jason Books” in Chancery… Joe was pretty excited to be out and about in the mei-tai carrier… Of course, within 5 minutes of walking he looked like this… And in case you’re interested, here’s the full view of Joe in the carrier… “My future’s so… Read More Book Walk
I bundled Joe up yesterday and we walked across the street to have his photo taken. We’re going to the US consulate sometime next week to apply for his passport, social security card, and Consular Report of a Birth Abroad. It’s a lot of paperwork and pretty much each form requires photo ID of Joe,… Read More Joe’s Passport Photo
My baby is 7 weeks old today! He is growing up so fast. At his last Plunket visit {pediatric nurse that does home visits here in New Zealand}, he was in the 91st percentile for height, 75th percentile for head circumference, and 50th percentile for weight. We went and got his “jabs” {vaccinations} last Thursday… Read More 7 Weeks
In case Joe ever follows in his daddy’s footsteps, here’s a photo of him, his dad, and another top guy in the field. Chris, Mark, and Joe We had Mark over for dinner this past week. He’s here from the States, attending the conference that Chris is running at the university. Mark is a father… Read More More Visitors
My baby boy is 5 weeks old… I meant to do a “4 Week” post but was so busy that it never materialized. Sorry, Joe! What with my mother-in-law arriving, Chris’ conference organization, hosting the reception, having people over for dinner, and just generally keeping up with a newborn, I found that at the end… Read More 5 Weeks
I don’t think I have enough going on in my life. This week? We had a 2nd follow-up appointment for Joe’s circumcision, a visit from the midwife, I’ve got a schedule to put together, we’re having a “casual” cocktail hour for 15 of my husband’s colleagues and some of their wives who are here for… Read More Good Grief.
Joe is 2 weeks old today… It’s amazing how much has changed in that short period of time. Joe is more alert, has better control of his muscles, and we’re figuring this breastfeeding thing out. In the past 2 weeks, he’s been around town, gone to the beach, to the library a few times, and… Read More Two Weeks
Well, Mom is on her way back to the States. For several days, as evening would turn to night, I’d get really sad because it meant I was 1 day closer to Mom leaving. I chalked it up to pregnancy hormones and just let myself be sad for a bit. I’m doing better now. And… Read More More Photos
