We put up our Christmas tree on Saturday, and I was so pleased! In the almost 4 years that we’ve been married, we’ve only put up a tree once before, making this time numero dos. We were in Spain during our 1st Christmas (on our honeymoon), put up a tree for our 2nd Christmas (even though much of that year’s holiday season was spent in Hawaii), skipped the tree last year (we didn’t have enough space, really), and finally had room + time for it this year 🙂
My parents always got each of us kids a personalized ornament from “Things Remembered” for every Christmas. It was fun to pull out all of those and look at them, thinking of Christmases past. Then, it was fun to look at all of the ornaments that I got during one of my bridal showers. We were married right around Christmas, so at one of my four (yes, four) bridal/wedding showers, the guests were asked to bring an ornament to help us decorate our tree. There are some really cute ones, some really unique ones, and some that are just downright gorgeous. I can’t wait to take some pictures and share them with all of you 🙂 Has anyone else put up their tree(s)?
We purchased our tree on Sunday but have yet to put it in the house (it’s currently on the back porch in water). My husband has been sick with a pretty bad cold since Thanksgiving and wants to feel less drugged for the tree trimming. My fingers are crossed that tomorrow is finally the night!
My mom started giving me special ornaments while I was in high school and each year my hubby + I get a new one. I absolutely love unwrapping these precious gems and thinking about what was going on in our lives the year my mom got it for us. We also pick ornaments up when we travel so we re-live those moments as well (I always quiz him on where they came from). No wonder he wants to be “drug free” when we walk down memory lane 🙂
yup, we have our tree up, pictures on my blog. I just love the hand made egg ornaments. Has she ever thought of selling them on etsy?
Sounds like your tree is going to be very pretty!
