Saturdays used to be fun. Of course, that was when we were both full-time students and before we were working full time! Now, Saturdays are usually spent doing laundry, cleaning, running errands, etc., while Chris goes into the office for several hours to work on the upcoming week’s lectures.
Today, however, will be fun! We are going to drive up to Salem, MA later this afternoon for their Harvest Fest. Of course, when I bought the tickets, I had forgotten about the game between University of South Carolina and LSU. The Harvest Fest is from 5:30 – 8:00pm, and of course, the game starts at 8:00pm (it’s about an hour’s drive to Salem).
Chris isn’t too thrilled about missing a big chunk of it, but he is also partially to blame! Before I bought the tickets, I showed him the information online – put it right in front of him. He did the typical husband thing of “Uh huh, yeah, looks nice. Sure, we can go.” The dates and times were right in front of his nose, and I told him that it would be next Saturday (this was last week when I showed it to him). It wasn’t until after I had spent $40 for the tickets and told him it was all set up that he realized about the game. Then, he asked me if I could return the tickets (which I bought online and were sent in the mail) and switch them for the earlier session (there was one from 2:00 – 4:30pm). Grrr. I told him that if he wanted to switch it, that was fine, but that he would have to make the phone calls and do it. I don’t typically have a lot of time on the unit to step away and make phone calls, you know? A professor’s schedule is a little more flexible. Chris said he would take care of it. Which is why we are still going to the 5:30 – 8:00pm session later this evening 🙂
