A huge THANK YOU to my wonderful younger sister, Valerie! I was so surprised to see a big box waiting on my doorstep when I pulled in the drive this afternoon. I was thinking, “Oops – did I order something and forget about it again?”  As I got closer, I saw that the address was handwritten. Curious – very curious! I pretty quickly figured out that the box was from Valerie, and I couldn’t help but wonder what in the world she was sending me!

(Let me quick share some background information with you: when I got my first degree, Val & I were able to live together for 2 years – my Junior & Senior years, her Freshman & Sophomore years.  When I decided to go back to school for my BSN, we made it a point to meet for lunch each week, and I am so glad that we did.  I really looked forward to those lunches, and when I found out that we would be moving to New England, I knew that I would really miss them.)

Anyway, I’m sure you’re all wondering what she sent me, so let me show you…

In case you can’t tell from the picture, let me share what was in the box. She sent me a fabulous pink & purple scarf, magenta gloves, Santa Claus fuzzy socks (complete with the little fluffy pom-poms at the ankles), Gumdrop lip gloss, Winter Vanilla foot scrub, Frosted Berry lotion, candy (!!!), multiple flavors of hot cocoa, an absolutely adorable Buzzy Christmas Tree Grow Kit (which I fully intend to grow), and the best thing of all – a navy toggle coat for Bear! Doesn’t he look adorable?

 

According to Chris, he looks like a “preppy high school kid”, but I love it 🙂  It’s a perfect fit, and it will be great for those cold New England winters!  Thank you so much, Valerie!!! Love you!
